What You Can Expect
Your full-day adventure begins at approximately 08:00, with collection from your accommodation in Walvis Bay or Swakopmund.
Dune 7:
Start by climbing Namibia’s famous Dune 7, standing 132 metres tall. From the summit, enjoy sweeping views across the desert.
Welwitschia Plains & Swakop River Valley:
Continue to the Welwitschia plains to see Namibia’s remarkable living fossil plant. From here, descend into the Swakop River Valley, where dramatic rock formations, ancient riverbeds, and desert wildlife create a stunning natural landscape.
Possible wildlife sightings include klipspringer, ostrich, and baboons, adding excitement to the journey.
Moon Landscape & Goanikontes Oasis:
Stop at the Moon Landscape viewpoint, where millions of years of erosion have created a surreal, otherworldly terrain. A short stop at Goanikontes Oasis provides a peaceful break in the desert.
Spitzkoppe Arrival:
Arrive at Spitzkoppe around midday, where lunch is served beneath the shade of acacia trees.
After lunch, explore the granite mountains known as the “Matterhorn of Namibia.” Your guide will take you to:
• Ancient Bushman rock art sites
• The famous Spitzkoppe Rock Arch
• Scenic viewpoints and hidden photographic gems
You may choose between an easy-access rock art site or a more challenging hike to an elevated viewpoint.
After exploring Spitzkoppe, relax on the scenic return journey, arriving back at your accommodation in the late afternoon
