Our driver and guide André is a wonderful person and in his friendly manner he told us a lot about his country and this great area we were visiting. The Spitzkoppe granite peaks are one of the most popular sights in Namibia. It is the highest mountain in the country and has been discribed as the metterhorn of Namibia  due to the shape of one of its peaks. The Spitzkoppe is known for its stunning beauty and the thousands of ancient Bushmen rock art paintings that is viewable. When you visit this amazing place, it will render you speechless, so be sure to add The Spitzkoppe Tour to your itinirary.

Your day starts at aprox 8:30 when we collect you from your accomodation in Walvis Bay or Swakopmund or at Walvis Bay Port, and after a short briefing we depart in our 4x4 vehicle towards the odd holiday resort of Wlotzkasbaken, then visit the Zeille Shipwreck. From here you travel the dirt road inland to the mountains.

You arrive at Spitzkoppe at aprox 11:00  and then your fist stop is viewing the ancient bushmen artwork.

After learning about the Bushman art and geology of The Spitzkoppe, you will have ample time to relax and explore the area and make use of the fantastic photo opportunities. Visit the famous rock arch and search the area for loal wildlife including zebra and springbuck.

After exploring we set up lunch which is an assortment of finger snacks, cold drinks, wine, beer and local sweets, and then its time to head to your accommodation- the luxury tented camp right next to Spitzkoppe mountain.

From the camp you can enjoy the sunset with a cold beverage from the on-site bar/restaurant(at your own cost), relax in the swimming pool or have a short walk around the site.

The next morning after breakfast, we make our way out of camp towards the strange area we call the Moon Landsape. Here your guide will tell you all there is to know about this strange geology and flora that exist here with a visit to the endemic Welwitschia Maribilis plant.

From here we conclude the tour at Walvis Bay / Swakopmund
